PONT JACQUES-CARTIER, woven Jacquard
My research in fiber optics and in electronic circuits inspire new artworks such as PONT JAQUES-CARTIER and, IRIDESCENT CITY, where I program an electronic card on which is found a micro controller to animate and illuminate the tapestry with fiber optics, or tiny LED lights. I am fascinated by the effect of light on architecture and on landscapes.
The dimensions of this tapestry are 72 by 105 cm and it is woven with cotton yarn and fiber optics that change colors when someone speaks or makes noise.
