Description

Vibrations on fibres 23 at the Museum of Fine Arts of Sherbrooke

Vibrations on fibres 23, is a retrospective of the work of Paulette-Marie Sauvé.
This show was exhibited from May 11 to September 3, 2023.
The Museum of Fine Arts of Sherbrooke (Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke) is pleased to host this major retrospective exhibition produced by the Musée des métiers d’art du Québec.

The Curator of these two exhibitions is Françoise Cloutier.

These exhibitions cover almost 50 years of the work of artist and tapestry weaver Paulette-Marie Sauvé.  They present primarily textile art installations and tapestries representative of different periods of her career. The curator, Françoise Cloutier, remarks that Paulette-Marie Sauvé was one of the leading figures in new Quebec tapestry as early as 1978, mastering bygone weaving techniques with a remarkable contemporary approach.
